Corollary, with the conferment of said Award may we request you to comply with the following important stipulations:

...1. Filling-up of the EDS Alumni Achievement Award Form to quantify your career achievements.
...2. The Award Recipients will be conferred with the Plaque and Certificate of Achievements.

Professor Dr. Premkumar, BBA(Mel), MBA(UUM), PhD (USM)

Associate Professor Dr. Premkumar is one of the Asia’s leading Business Strategic and Supply Chain trainer and researcher with more than 15 years of hands-on-experience. He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy in Supply Chain Management with University Science of Malaysia (USM) and he is currently holding a Strategic Program Manager position in a MNC.

Besides conducting trainings throughout Malaysia, Australia and Vietnam, Dr. Premkumar has also travel to India, Indonesia, England and USA to present his latest research in the international conference. Among the topics he has presented was “Seminar On Leadership In Logistics & The Latest Trends In Supply Chain Management”, “Design Option for Sustainable Logistics System Management and e-Business” and “The determinants of Supply Chain Partnering”. His recent research on SCM was also published in Emerald World Library, Oct 2005. Beside this he has written a chapter for a SCM book which would be published in Australia, May 2006.

Associate Professor WH Loh, BSc, MA-Econs , DBA(Candidate)

Associate Professor Loh is a highly requested trainer, facilitator, and Marketing Consultant. Drawing on his more than 15 years of hand-on experience as a Marketing Practitioner and currently he is the Senior Marketing Manager of one of the global Big 4 Accounting and Management Consulting firm in Malaysia. Dr. Harwindar Singh is a consultant and trainer in the area of corporate strategic, managing change, financial analysis, credit evaluation, loan recovery, strategic financial management, financial modeling, and other management, risk and strategy related topics.

Dr. Harwindar has more than 22 years of experience in various industries, working initially for a manufacturing multi-national corporation (MNC), then commercial banking with emphasis on credit marketing and business development and is now a well regarded business consultant whose business advisory services are much sought after.

As a corporate trainer, he has worked with Bank Negara Malaysia and Danamodal, Bank Industri, Standard Chartered Bank, the Maybank Group, Telekom Malaysia, NEC Semi-conductors, STAR, Australian Society of CPAs, Association of Finance Companies Malaysia (AFCM), Kontena Nasional, Petronas… and many others.

Located in Jalan Kampung Relau, Bayan Lepas, Penang, Bamboo is the largest catering company in the northern region offering full one-stop solution services. Another favoured dish is the fried chicken wings with belacan, which Kum said was popular among their re-peat customers. Other popular picks include deep-fried stuffing crab with Thai sauce and grilled stingray with sambal.

Local favourites like asam laksa and char kuih teow are also popular. Customers can also make additional orders for their favourite hawker food.

Bamboo offers different packages to suit customers' needs and budgets. For crowds of 60 guests and above, customers can select the BBQ and teppanyaki packages, golden packages or the jade packages.

Bamboo also has the Malaysia Traditional Packages offering authentic Malay cuisine like ayam masak merah, ayam goreng belacan andrendang daging lembu. The packages come with two different menus and styles that are suitable for lunch and dinner receptions.

For smaller crowds of 30 guests and more, Bamboo offers the buffet-style cocktail reception package which is a combination of local and Western dishes with familiar items like spaghetti, chapatti and satay.

The tea reception menu for 30 to 100 guests costs RM8 per person. The delivery-only package is appropriate for morning and afternoon light refreshments.

Also for deliveries are Bamboo's ben-to sets comprising of the Oriental, Western style, nyonya rice and Bamboo bento sets.

Bamboo's menus include a wide selection of fried rice, curries, fried chicken, seafood, vegetable dishes, fruit salads and desserts.

"Our customers can visit our website whenever they want, look through our packages, choose the one that suits them best and select the food they want.

"The ordering process is simple as customers are guided step-by-step through it. This saves time and is very convenient for customers who are too busy to come to us during office hours," said Kum.

Besides being the first catering company to enable customers to make reservations online, Bamboo is also pioneering an interest-free instalment scheme that makes paying easier for their clients.

"We are probably the first catering company in the country to offer customers a pay-by-instalment scheme. Our customers can take their time to settle their bills in 18 months. We think this plan is very convenient for our clients especially those organising housewarmings, who have already spent so much money," said Kum.

Bamboo caters for events of various types and sizes including backyard barbeques, birthday parties, opening ceremonies, dinner parties, buffets, tea receptions, seminars, exhibitions, fund-raisers and company functions.

The catering company can manage crowds from 30 to 10,000 guests and the service also covers Butterworth, Sungai Petani, Taiping, Kedah and Perlis.

"We can manage up to 20 events at different locations in one day. We can cater for events at venues as far as Bukit Kayu Hitam and Ipoh," said Kum.

Dr. Efim Zelmanov, recipient of the Fields Metal in 1994 for exceptional achievements in Advanced Mathematics. The Fields Medal, officially known as International Medal for Outstanding Discoveries in Mathematics and often described as the "Nobel Prize of Mathematics". He was received by a packed audience of NTTU directors, international guests, NTTU faculty and students.

Dr. Efim Zelmanov responded to questions from the audience related to his achievements and the impact upon his life after receipt of the Fields Medal. His replied were impressive and encouraging to the young students in the audience.

Successful Visit to Thai Nguyen University

Akamai University President Successful Visit to Thai Nguyen University in Vietnam

Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, President of Akamai University meet with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dean of the TNU International Education Programs.

On 17 December, Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, President of Akamai University, Hawaii, USA and Prof. Dr. Ben Lee, President of EDS Business School, Malaysia were received at the Hanoi airport and welcomed at Thai Nguyen University, Vietnam, by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dean of the International Education Programs.

Discussions were held related to establishment of an Akamai University affiliation with Thai Nguyen University for dual degree ventures, direct enrollment to Akamai programs by Thai Nguyen students, Akamai faculty exchange for on-campus lectures, and the possibility of future ventures in distance education between the institutions. Ongoing discussions leading to a formal memorandum of Agreement is anticipated.

Dr. Capogrossi made presentations before TNU graduate students about the importance of establishing quality assurance in high education institutions.

Dr. Capogrossi made presentations before Thai Nguyen graduate students with regard to the mission and structures of Akamai University and related to the importance of establishing quality assurance in high education institutions.

Dr. Capogrossi paid special attention to the importance of universities serving the needs of tjheir students, understanding the expectations of industry and the professions, and establishing degree programs which effectively serve these needs. He spoke about the great importance of evaluating the level of success of university programs by gathering and responding to feedback from students and faculty, as well as gathering vital feedback from longitudinal follow-up studies with employers of the alumni.

Dr. Caporgossi spoke briefly about his role and responsibilities a member of the Board of Directors of International Distance Education Accreditation League (IDEAL) and a Trustee of the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA), Philippines. He further discussed the importance of quality assurance agencies in guiding higher education instuitutions toward excellence in delivery of vital programs in service to human betterment and sustainability.

A tour of the facilites of Thai Nguyen University was quite inspiring, with the beautiful grounds and landcaping and great care paid to the quality of the structure of the buildings and facilities. Dr. Ben Lee, President of EDS Business School and Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, President of Akamai Universirty were pleased to meet with new Akamai graduates in Hanoi at the New Day Restaurant, packed for dinner with locals and international travellers served excellent northern Vietnamese cuisine.

The Alamai MBA graduates spoke of their hard work and late nights completing difficult assignments and their aspirations to enter the DBA program in the new year. Dr. Capogrossi felt very happy to meet face to face with Vietnamese graduates and he expressed a sincere wish to make many more trips to Vietnam to meet with students and graduates and to learn more about Vietnamese customs and life in the communities.

On 28 November 2011, Prof. Datu Dr. Ben Lee paid a courtesy call on the international headquarters of International Distance Education Accreditation League (IDEAL) in Tacurong City, Mindanao, Philippines. As a member of the Board of Directors of IDEAL and the IDEAL Vice President for Membership Development, was Datu Dr. Lee’s first visit to the IDEAL head office, as it is the custom of IDEAL to convene its Board meetings at international venues.

Datu Dr. Lee took advantage of his viait to th IDEAL office to present Datu President Nelson T Binag with a plaque of gratitude for the excellent job done and his achievements during the founding of IDEAL over the past three years. Datu Dr. Lee was also fortunate to meet and greet the IDEAL Office Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Dolorcita E. Pauya and IDEAL Office Secretary, Ms. Maricel Amit. As is Dr. Nelson Binag’s character, T he office was well decorated and suited for welcoming of international visitors.

President Binag gave Datu Dr. Lee a tour of the campus of Sultan Kudarat State was especially impressed with the very green campus. Datu Dr. Lee delivered a short address at the morning convocation and flag ceremony, and privileged to serve as an external observer at the doctoral defense of a dissertation candidate in the field of Institutional Development and Management, an area of his personal expertise.

The HRH Sultan Mohammad Penandatu Uko Mluk acknowledged in his address that indeed there is an historical linkage with Dr. Ben Lee of Malaysia, as his forefather, Sultan Sharrif Mohammad Dipatuan Kabunsuan arrived in Mindanao, Philippines during the 14th century from Johore, Malaysia in search of his father Sharrif Zainal Abedin. Later, he married a Mindanao woman who bore him children and his family has continued in the Philippines from that time.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ben Lee stated that as Datu Waris he understands he is viewed as an authority to advise the Sultanate on matters vital to the welfare of the community. He pledged to continue to grow in knowledge, so that when called upon to advise the Royal House of the Sultanate of Kabuntalan, he will be able to provide expertise of the highest quality and value. Dr. Lee further pledged to continue providing leadership in development of higher education, opening the way for human advisement for countless individuals in Philippines, especially for the community of the Sultanate of Kabuntalan. He also pledged at all time to act in a highly ethical manner, bringing due respect and honor to the honorable award of Datus Waris.

Acts in Dishonorable and Unethical Manner toward Its Students

Background
EDS Business School (EDS), Malaysia, entered a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with American Heritage University of Southern California (AHU) on March 25, 2006. The MoA included the primary terms and conditions related to the delivery of AHU programs by EDS and management of the operations of those programs. Dr. Ben Lee, CEO of EDS was placed in charge of the oversight of the cooperative EDS-AHU programs, being formally appointed as Regional Admissions Director (Asia and Southeast Asia) and later as Vice President for Asia-Pacific in connection with the MoA. Student tuition and fees we clearly established by the MoA and later certified by signed financial reports between the MoA partners. EDS operated carefully by those understandings. AHU imposed new tuition and fee structures upon its students after their registration in the AHU-EDS programs.

Issue #1:
Without prior notice, on August 6, 2011, five years into operation under the signed MoA, AHU unexpectedly issued EDS a bill imposing two new additional post-enrollment fees upon all students under the MoA, differing widely from what students were lead to believe and had paid since the start of the MoA. Originally, students were to make a small initial payment toward the tuition at the point of enrollment, with the remainder, due and payable upon the student’s completion of the program. This tuition structure was to include any admission and graduation fees. In the August 6 notice, AHU imposed two new fees on the students: a $100 admission fee, and a $350 added graduation fee (graduation non-attendance fee).

Since the start of EDS collaboration with AHU, in March 25, 2006, AHU had agreed to waive the USD350 fee for non-attendance of graduation. In fact, a signed financial statement clearly stated that fact. The EDS record of transactions from March 25, 2006 to July 31, 2011 reveals that there is no such fee charged to students under the MoA.

Issue #2:
Strangely, AHU is attempting to impose these two new fees upon 96 students who have already earned their degrees and been issued their diplomas by AHU. These graduates were under the administration of EDS and have already completed their AHU programs. It is not logical or ethical for AHU to go back to their graduates and ask them to pay these added fees?

Issue #3:
During 2006, the AHU President sought out financial help from EDS Business School to overcome their cash flow problem. The amount of USD$50,000 was granted to AHU under a written side agreement. In this written agreement, EDS arranged to help AHU at its time of great need and AHU would agree to lower its fees somewhat, as a manner of repayment. Subsequently, the AHU President has fraudulently stated that it does not owe EDS Business School the remaining balance on the loan, an amount of US$47,264. EDS has presented accurate records clarifying its valid claim. AHU continues to ignore the validity of this debt and disavows its responsibility for the remaining loan balance.

Vitally important to mention is that these new student fees, unethically imposed, also relate to 262 currently enrolled students at EDS Business School who entrée their programs under the EDS-AHU MoA. Additionally, the failure on the part of AHU to continue the MoA in full has repercussions for currently enrolled 262 students, since EDS via the loan, prepaid student tuition, which was to be applied as future students enrolled at EDS under the MoA. If the current students are to have post-registration fees imposed in addition to their tuition billing, this would be an unfair assessment, since all students were quoted full tuition under the original MoA.

To validate the legitimacy of the EDS claims regarding the AHU loan repayment status and the MoA fee structures, EDS Business School proposes to AHU President that AHU and EDS collectively appoint a forensic accounting firm such as KPMG to audit the AHU-EDS transactions. These forensic auditors are welcome to come to Penang, Malaysia to audit the EDS accounts. If the EDS claim is proven correct, AHU will be responsible for all this accounting cost and travel expenses, and refund to EDS Business School the outstanding amount due of US$47,264. However, if EDS accounts is incorrect, EDS will responsible to pay for the services of the auditors and traveling expenses and assume whatever accurate debt is discovered. EDS Business School views this proposal as a fair and equitable solution to our irreconcilable differences. We ask that AHU accept this offer, as a viable solution to this very grave conflict.

You might ask why a can of Cola selling at Tesco costs only RM1.20 a can? However, iIf you order the same Cola at any of the restaurant at Sunway Carnival here, it costs RM3-00 or more! Further, if you simply cross the road at the Sunway Hotel it costs RM9-00! Why? It is the same Cola, same size, same taste yet the cost varies?

The correct answers is …POSITIONING! Therefore, why some people earn RM1,500 a month, some earn RM5,000 a month and yet some earn RM15,000 a month working the same hours i.e. 9 AM to 5 PM. Why? It is KNOWLEDGE! Knowledge which came from continuous life-long education.

EDS Business School, under the leadership of Dr. Ben Lee experienced a great success in the conduct of the International Leadership Training Conference delivered in collaboration with Philippines Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and Akamai
University on 23 – 27 September 2011 at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

More than 80 university leaders from Philippines were in attendance, including 24 University Presidents,12 Vice Presidents along with numerous deans and campus directors. Two current members of the Commission of Higher Education (CHED), Philippines; Honorable Nona Ricafort and Honorable Luningning Misuarez-Umar graced the audience with presentations about the challenges and future of higher education in the Philippines.

Dr. Ben Lee, President and Founder of EDS Business School was in attendance and presented Opening and Closing Remarks.

Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, dynamic PASUC Chairman provided outstanding leadership and motivation among the participants. Dr. Premkumar Rajagopal delivered a world class three-day training seminar on application of principles ans practices of supply chain management to the challenges of educational leadership in higher education. He was well received by his audience of top university leaders. Dr. Premkumar demonstrated clearly why he is viewed as
Asia’s Supply Chain guru.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

- In lieu of the Bachelor’s degree, applicants will be considered with a recognized Business Diploma (Associate Degree) and a minimum of five years of working experience. Applicants accepted in the absence of the Bachelor's degree will be required by the University to add missing elements to the minimum program, as a condition for admission.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Duration: 12 months

The minimum program requirement for a MBA-HRM Degree is 40 credits beyond the Bachelor degree, including the comprehensive review, and thesis project activities. EDS Business School has successfully conducted a seven-day International Residential Advanced Management cross-border training conference, in Chengdu, China, during 25 to 31 August 2011. The program is a valuable pathway toward the EDS International MBA program.

The MBA/Advanced Management Program was very successfully carried out by EDS senior faculty Professor Dr Karling and Associate Professor Loh Wei Hoong. Currently EDS conducts the Advanced Management Program / MBA Program in Penang, Malaysia; Chengdu, China; Ifugao, Philippines; and Thai Nguyen City, Vietnam.

All EDS alumni are encouraged to join this cross-border residential program to refresh, and further enhance their knowledge, taking the opportunity to build their international business networking.

On day one and two, Associate Professor Loh Wei Hoong taught the Marketing Management module covering the development of marketing strategies and plans, and elements of segmentation, targeting and positioning.

On day three and four, Dr Lee Karling taught the Management Skills and Strategies module covering differences between leading and managing, and managing the performance of subordinates. On day five, the participants has field study session and networking day among the participants. On day six and seven, Professor Dr Lee Karling taught the Operation System Management module with focus upon the transformation process, how to manage operations and method and strategies for adding value, reduction of wastage, and improving work quality.

Another milestone achieved by EDS Business School and Ifugao State University

On 5 & 6 May 2011, Professor Dr Ben Lee, President of EDS Business School, Malaysia and Professor Dr Serafin Ngohayon, President of Ifugao State University (IFSU) visited the Thai Nguyen University (TNU) which located in north of Vietnam. While at the main campus of TNU, the Memorandum of Agreement was signed between TNU, IFSU and EDS to offer IFSU Doctor of Business Administration program in Vietnam.

Prof Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh presented the Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the TNU President to Prof Dr Ben Lee, President of EDS Business School; Prof Dr Serafin Ngohayon, President of Ifugao State University, Philippines; and Dr Jimmy Soria, Executive Director of Philippines Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC).

On 17 March, 2011 under the resolution No. 188a/QD-DHTN the President of Thai Nguyen University has approved the offering of IFSU Doctor of Business Administration program in Vietnam and assigned TNU Center for Research and Educational Cooperation and the Graduate School to coordinate with IFSU to implement the Doctor of Business Administration program. The place of implementation will be at the main campus of TNU or any of its domestic partners and/or campuses in Vietnam.

Professor Dr Ben Lee was appointed as the Dean of IFSU Cross-border program and is responsible to implement all the MBA, DBA and PhD in Educational Management programs in Vietnam and countries in Asia.

While visit the Thai Nguyen University, Vietnam on 4 May 2011, Dr Ben Lee has the opportunity to met his old friend / mentor, Professor Dr Chu Hoang Mau, the Vice President of TNU for a dinner.

Professor Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh, Rector of TNU International College discussed with Professor Dr Serafin Ngohayon about implementation of the IFSU MBA and DBA programs.

Thai Nguyen University is in major expansion. The background is the TNU student hostel. They are now in the midst of contructing 50 block of hostel and to be fully contructed by end of this year.

Standard, Minimum-Maximum Degree Periods
The standard degree period is two years for Master program. The minimum required enrollment period for Master program is one full calendar year from the date of initial registration. The maximum periods allowed for program completion is four years for Master program.

Grading System
Ifugao State University awards a letter grade for each module for which grade points are earned based on the four -point scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0). The scaling for these grades is as follows:
A - (Excellent) 91 thru 100
B - (Above Average) 81 thru 90
C - (Average) 71 thru 80
F - (Fail) 70 and below
PR - (Progress) This grade is used to indicate that a thesis or dissertation is in progress but not complete.
W - (Withdrawal) A W grade is used for approved administrative withdrawals.

Grade-Point Average
Student’s academic standing is referred to in terms of grade-point average calculated by dividing the total number of grade points earned at the University by the total number of hours attempted. Courses given a grade of PR or W are excluded in the grade-point average calculation.

TUITION FEES
The IFSU and GISM Ladderized International MBA tuition fees is US$4,900 on full payment upon registration; and it is US$5,300 if paid by two installments. Students who opt for the two-payment plan must make their second installment payment full before attending the Residential Studies in Penang, Malaysia.

SCHOLARLY DOCUMENT REQUIRED
MBA participants complete 40 graduate credits in coursework comprising the foundational competencies in theories, principles, and practices, and the social-cultural implications of the discipline. These courses represent the essential elements, which define the field of study and establish the underlying foundations upon which participants may base their advanced professional development.

Module Grading

Each module will have a five-part grading scheme:
• 5 marks: Class attendance and punctuality
• 15 marks: Scoring for extent of participation in the seminar activities
• 20 marks: Summarize and comment on case studies
• 20 marks: Assigned scholarly readings and submission of essays in reply to questions provided by the course instructor.
• 40 marks: Students prepare a written scholarly paper of 2,000 words on an approved topic for the module and assignment must include full references to that literature.

Attendance Required
Students are required to attend all support seminars and to submit assignments in a timely manner. A maximum 60 days are allowed following the students attendance at the support seminar. Course start date is the date when the student attends the support seminar for that particular module.

This was a time of bonding, rest and enjoyment for these education executives. Entrepreneurship is at its very best at Restoran Kolam Ikan, with the merging of a continuously flowing fresh water fish farm, and a freshly cooked fish restaurant. On Wednesday 16th March,at this rural location, Dr. Ben Lee hosted honorable guests, Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, President of Ifugao State University and also President of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Philippines, and Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, President of Akamai University, Hawaii, and his wife Fely Angeline.

This rural location at Sungai Kob, Kulim, Kedah is one place that Dr. Ben Lee frequently comes with close friends and family to relax and enjoy some of the best cooked fish in the Metro Area.

A variety of four different fish i.e. patin, white cat fish, golden talapia and local snake head fish were served by the restaurant, each with its own healthy preparation. Dr. Ngohayon enjoyed the cooked fish a great deal and thought that the entrepreneurial concept had given him ideas that could spark similar micro-enterprises at Ifugao State University.

On the morning of Sunday, 27 February 2011, Dr. Ben Lee gathered with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, and two other EDS MBA graduate at Camelia 4 Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, to congratulate her on the completion of her Akamai University MBA program via the EDS residential program. At this meeting, Dr. Ben Lee was so impressed and happy to learn that Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh now holds the position of Deputy General Director of a major construction company in Hanoi. When Ms. Hanh first enrolled for the MBA program, she was holding the position of officer for Helvetas, an NGO based in Switzerland.

I just came back from Ifugao State University (IFSU), Philippines last night. I am happy to inform you that I have successfully defended my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) dissertation and conducted two lectures at IFSU.

At IFSU, I was treated like VIP. I am touched by the kindness and the hospitality by Professor Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, the IFSU President, Professor Faith Basilio, the IFSU Vice President and the wonderful people in IFSU.

Wonderful IFSU participants with great enthusiasm and passion during the lectures.

I would also like to thank them for the wonderful trip to Banaue Rice Terraces, Ifugao, which is inscribed as a UNESCO World heritage Site. Being a vegetarian, I am also thankful to them for preparing vegetarian food and ample supply of fruits provided during my stay at IFSU.

Thank you to you too for making this arrangement. Your support was timely, as due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was looking for the option to transfer my PhD thesis from our frustrating public university system to another accredited university which system is more efficient and effective.

Visits Akamai University Pohakuwaena Research Station

On Thursday, 20 January 2011, the IDEAL accrediting team paid an on-site visit to tour the Pohakuwaena Research Station operated by Prof. James Ferrell, of the Akamai University. Visiting the Research Station were Dr. Nelson Binag, IDEAL Accrediting Team Chairman; Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, Accrediting Team Vice Chairman; Dr. Ben Lee, CEO and President, EDS Business School; Dr. Anthony Maranto, Akamai Vice President; and Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, Akamai President.

Prof. Ferrell conducted a brief orientation in one of the research station’s major greenhouses, demonstrating the method of growing vegetables by the hydroponic method using specially designed water tables to hold mineral nutrient solutions, growing healthy plants in water solution, without the need for soil. The Station also has experimental growths of special timber woods known for their beauty as furniture wood.

The Research Station is housed on more than a hectare of well maintained land, including more than an acre of mature coffee plants, among lemon, tangerine, tangelo, orange, macadamia, star fruit, avocado and other fruit trees and specialty wood trees. The visitors were treated to the juiciest oranges and tangerines, and Prof. Ferrell prepared us all glasses of the sweetest orange juice ever tasted. The Research Station also has additional land in production in nearby locations, including a two acre coffee crop established as an experimental commercial venture, and extensive aquatics ponds near the Islands major geothermal power stations.

Prof. Jim Ferrell, renowned professional horticulturalist and researcher, has conducted projects and visited countless locations worldwide. Profess Ferrell, Director of the Research Center is a longstanding member of the Akamai Board of Director. Plans are underway to provide research opportunities for graduate students to conduct projects at the station in cooperation with Prof. Ferrell and other Akamai researchers and local specialists. Programs included in the research program include hydroponics, greenhouse projects, orchard start-ups, sustainable agriculture, environmental management, and small scale commercial agricultural ventures. Graduate students associated with Akamai University, its affiliated universities and research associates may arrange access to the Pohakuwaena Research Station by making contact with Akamai University international headquarters in Hawaii, USA.

Pror. Ferrell earned his Master of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resource Education at Oregon State University (1978) and his Bachelor of Science in Plant Science and Horticulture from Utah State University (1975). He pursued post-Master's training and research in Tropical Agriculture from University of Hawaii, and Agricultural Studies from South China Agriculture University, Beijing Agriculture University, Peking University, Eurotechnical Research University, Mauna Loa Research Institute, and Australian Center for Minesite Research. Mr. Ferrell is currently a Teaching Professor with the University of Hawaii Forestry Department and Office of Continuing Education.

Among his many projects, Prof. Ferrell presently serves as a consultant in Tropical Forest Restoration and Resource Management, Sustainable Agriculture, Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture and Agronomy, Greenhouse and Nursery Management, Hydroponics, and Re-vegetation and Reclamation. His current areas of research include Chemical, Nutrient, Waste Cycling for Sustainable Reclamation Management, and Techniques for Adaptation of Site Specific Plant Materials. Mr. Ferrell holds National Teacher Certification through the Department of Education and Agricultural Extension Service, Certified Pesticide Application Trainer with USDA, and Certified Organic Farm Inspector with the Hawaii Organic Farmers Association. Mr. Ferrell's prior professional achievements include positions with US Department of Agriculture, Hawaii Department of Public Safety Office of Education, Hawaii Community College and Freeport Mining Company, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.

The Board of Directors of Akamai University welcomed an important visitor at their Hawaii headquarters from 15 - 22 January 2011. Dr. Ben Lee of the EDS Business School, Penang, Malaysia, was invited to travel to USA to meet with the members of the Akamai University Board of Directors who gathered for the IDEAL on-site accreditation visit.

Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, Akamai President; Dr. Anthony Maranto, Vice President; Dr. Dale McSherry, Board Secretary; Prof. James Ferrell, Board Treasurer; and Dr. Deryl Gulliford, Chairman of the Academic Council all met on 16 January to conduct their First Quarter 2011 Board meeting. The Board was pleased with the presence of Dr. Ben Lee upon the occasion of his unanimous confirmation as Vice President for Asia-Pacific Business Programs.

While Dr. Capogrossi appointed Dr. Ben Lee as the Asia-Pacific Vice President during November of 2010, this gathering was the first opportunity for the Akamai Board to meet and confirm the appointment. Dr. Capogrossi was very pleased to have his "long time friend", Dr. Ben Lee visit the Akamai headquarters in Hawaii, personally meet the Akamai Board and staff members and explore the many wonderful sites on the Island of Hawaii. Dr. Anthony Maranto, Akamai Vice President, was pleased with meeting the "dynamic Dr. Ben" who was his long time colleague, but had not the privilege of meeting together in person.

Prof. James Ferrell was "honored" to have Dr. Ben visit thePohakuwaena Research Station near Hilo, and was delighted with the ideas and support he felt in communications with Dr. Ben. Dr. Deryl Gulliford, Chairman of Akamai's Academic Council, mentioned his delight with the "strength of Dr. Lee's academic ideas," and "concern for quality in higher education". Dr. Dale McSherry, Akamai Board Secretary was most impressed with Dr. Lee's "delightful sense of humor" and his "ethical character". The Akamai administrative staff were very happy to meet Dr. Ben, with whom they have exchanged communications and conducted administrative tasks for the past few years.

Dr. Ben Lee and Dr. Serafin Ngohayon meet in Ho Chi Minh City

Dr. Ben Lee, President and Founder of EDS Business School, Malaysia and Professor Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, President of Ifugao State University, Philippines, flew into Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Saturday, 18 December, to carry out detailed discussions regarding ongoing collaborative programs. The focus of the dialogue was primarily the implementation of dual degree programs between Akamai University, USA, and Ifugao State University in the MBA, MBA in HRM, and the joint program in DBA and PhD in Management. Dr. Ngohayon expressed a good deal of confidence in the high potential for the quality and integrity of the collaborative programs and the high potential of such programs serving the needs of working professional in Vietnam, Malaysia, China and Philippines.

On Sunday, 19 December Dr. Ngohayon and Dr. Lee were pleased with the opportunity to meet with the initial DBA students, and Dr. Ngohayon personally welcomed them to the Ifugao DBA program.

The students included:

That evening, EDS MBA and DBA students, and EDS alumni in HCMC invited Dr. Lee and Dr. Ngohayon together with Dr Pete Ooi, Ms. LK Tan and Ms. GL Ang for dinner.

On Monday morning, 20 December, during a breakfast gathering, Dr Ngohayon and Dr. Lee met with Dr. Chieu Ly Minh, EDS Business School senior Vietnamese co-trainer. Dr Chieu is also the Director of ARTTECH Multimedia Training Center, HCMC .

Later Monday morning, 20 December Dr. Lee and Dr. Ngohayon, together with Ms. LK Tan, EDS Administrative and Records Manager, visited Cao Thang Technical College. During the visit they gathered for a formal meeting with the Rector, Dr Dao Khanh Du, and the Head of the International Relations Department, Master Vu Ke Hoach, to discuss opportunities for international collaboration. Discussions included elements of faculty development, expanded curriculum offerings, dual degree awards, and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

After the meeting, Dr. Lee and Dr. Ngohayon were invited by Dr Dao Khanh Du and his college officials to a briefing and tour of the technical training department. They toured the advanced technical laboratory and robotics laboratory. Cao Thang Technical College demonstrated how well they are equipped with modern computer controlled machinery and tools necessary to train their students to meet the requirements of the industry.

Dr. Ben Lee Appointed to Board of National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies, Philippines

At its quarterly meeting, held at Quezon City, Philippines, 15 December 2010, the Board of Directors of NNQAA (National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies) confirmed the membership for IDEAL (International Distance Education Accreditation League) as the third accrediting agency in the NNQAA quality assurance network. Further at the meeting, three members from the IDEAL Board of Directors were appointed as directors representing IDEAL, to serve on the NNQAA Board of Directors, including Dr. Ben Lee, IDEAL Director, and CEO and Founder of EDS Business School, Malaysia; Dr. Nelson T. Binag, IDEAL Director, and President Emeritus of Sultan Kudarat State University, Philippines; and Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, IDEAL Director, and Founding President of Akamai University, Hawaii USA.

National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in the Philippines (NNQAA) is now comprised of three accrediting agencies, namely, Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation, Inc. (ALCUCOA), and the International Distance Education Accreditation League, Inc. (IDEAL). IDEAL, as the newest member of the NNQAA network is responsible for accreditation of cross-border and distance education colleges and universities, and training agencies.

Dr. Ben Lee was selected to represent IDEAL on the NNQAA Board in part due to his extensive knowledge and achievements in cross-border education and executive training programs for leaders of business and industry, nonprofit and academic institutions. Dr. Nelson T. Binag was selected in part due to his extensive experience and competence as a leader of quality assurance agencies in Philippines and his cross-cultural competence as a higher education professional. Dr. Douglass Capogrossi was selected to represent IDEAL on the NNQAA Board due to his high level achievements in building distance education and cross-border higher education programs, and his leadership at building coalitions and affiliations among higher education institutions in many nations.

As a member of the NNQAA Board, Dr. Ben Lee will have opportunities to influence the advancement of quality for cross-border education and executive development seminar programs across Asia and the Pacific. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
 Bachelor Degree or equivalent professional qualification with two years of working experience,
 In lieu of the Bachelor’s degree, applicants will be considered with a recognized Business Diploma (Associate Degree) and a minimum of five years of working experience. Such applicants will be required to submit appropriate letters of recommendation verifying they have the necessary capability and motivation to successfully complete the program within the allotted time span. Applicants accepted in the absence of the Bachelor's degree will be required by the University to add missing elements to the minimum program, as a condition for admission.
 English ability equivalent TOEFL 500 points.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Duration: 12 months

The minimum program requirement for a MBA-HRM Degree is 40 credits beyond the Bachelor degree, including the comprehensive review, and thesis project activities. Further, the participant MUST complete that modules that reflect the major concentration in Human Resource Management. Students are required to attend all of the tutorial seminars and successfully completed all the coursework assignments with cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, as outlined below:

Attendance Required
Students are required to attend all support seminars and to submit assignments in a timely manner. A maximum 60 days is allowed for submission of all assignments following the residential seminars. Should students experience health problems, work-related issues, or family emergencies, they may request a 30-day extension in writing by email, fax, or post, to be received at EDS within seven days beyond the assignment due dates.

Students receiving approval for extensions must submit completed assignments for the modules, to be received by EDS prior to the expiration of the extension or receive a grade of non-completion (NC) for the module. Should a student not submit assignments in the 60 day time allotted and fail to submit in writing for the extension as stated, EDS is required to submit a letter of academic probation. The letter of academic probation shall require the students submit the late assignments within 14 days or receive a grade of non-completion (NC) for the module. A grade of non-completion (NC) will require the student to re-enroll and retake the module, to remain in good standing toward their degree.

Standard, Minimum-Maximum Degree Periods
The standard degree period is two years for Master program. The minimum required enrollment period for Master program is one full calendar year from the date of initial registration. The maximum periods allowed for program completion is four years for Master program.

SPECIAL DUAL MBA IN HRM TUITION FEES
In cooperation with Akamai University and Ifugao State University, EDS Business School is offering a special tuition fee for the first 50 applicants who successfully enroll in the Dual MBA in HRM Program.

The Dual MBA in HRM tuition fee is US$4,600 on full payment upon registration; and it is US$4,900 if paid by two installments. Students who opt for the two-payment plan must make their second payment of the balance in full before attending the 2nd residential studies in Penang, Malaysia.

PENANG RESIDENTIAL FEES
Core Modules – Residential Fees
For the Core Modules participants required to attend two residential studies in Penang, Malaysia. Each residential session consist of 6 days of studies and 1 day of field studies. The fee for each residential is USD690 for twin-sharing accommodation and USD860 for single occupancy accommodation.

Vietnam Hospital Administrators Explore Penang Adventist Hospital

EDS Business School was pleased to host fifteen senior medical professionals from Hanoi-based government hospitals among the participants at the EDS Advanced Management Program in B-Suite Hotel, Penang on 5 - 11 December 2010. These medical doctors and other participants greatly appreciated the study visit organized by EDS to Penang Adventist Hospital (www.pah.com.my), an independent non-profit facility operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Penang Adventist Hospital is renowned for its specialized surgical services, and medical tourism programs. Since its humble beginnings, Penang Adventist Hospital has continued its steady development, progressing to become a tertiary healthcare institution today, providing global healthcare for Malaysia and the wider international community.

The primary objectives of the study visit to Penang Adventist Hospital was to examine the modern hospital and advanced medical facilities, and observe first-hand the techniques and practices of modern hospital management and customer care. The EDS participants were greatly impressed with the state-of-the art medical facilities, especially the Heart and Vascular Centre adult and pediatric, cardiac, catheterization, and diagnostic work ups, adult, and pediatric cardiac surgeries and cardiac rehabilitation.

The EDS participants also learned how the hospital has proactively delivered high quality natural and wholesome baked goods for the past twenty years, as an alternative for healthy living. The Adventist Bakery produces 56 varieties of wholesome breads, to cater to every taste bud imaginable! The Bakery even produces bread without using flour for those who are allergic to flour!

The EDS Team wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to the management of Penang Adventist Hospital for providing EDS participants the opportunity to visit the facility and explore its advanced medical services. Special thanks to Penang Adventist Hospital senior management team for their time and effort, escorting the EDS participants through the hospital departments, and for the excellent presentation and question and answer session which followed the tour.

A Visit To the Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum in Hangzhou, China

On 20 to 30 November 2010 Dr Ben Lee, President and Founder of EDS and his family were having their holiday trip at Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. During the visit to Hangzhou, Dr Lee take the opportunity to visit the Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum.

Inside the Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum there is a statue of Sun Simiao. Sun Simiao (581–682) was a famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor of the Sui and Tang dynasty. He was titled as China's King of Medicine (药王) for his significant contributions to Chinese medicine and tremendous care to his patients.

Sun wrote two books - Beiji Qian Jin Yao Fang ("Essential Formulas for Emergencies [Worth] a Thousand Pieces of Gold") and Qian Jin Yi Fang ("Supplement to the Formulas of a Thousand Gold Worth") - that were both milestones in the history of Chinese medicine. He is also known for the text "On the Absolute Sincerity of Great Physicians," often called "the Chinese Hippocratic Oath," which is still required reading for Chinese physicians:

“A Great Physician should not pay attention to status, wealth or age; neither should he question whether the particular person is attractive or unattractive, whether he is an enemy or friend, whether he is a Chinese or a foreigner, or finally, whether he is uneducated or educated. He should meet everyone on equal grounds. He should always act as if he were thinking of his close relatives.”

The Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum is the only Chinese herbal medicine museum in China housed in the ancient buildings of the famous Hangzhou Chinese herbal medicine shop. The exhibition halls introduce the origin, development, and application of traditional Chinese medicine and its role in the world history of medicine. Samples of the herbal plants and a hand- processing workshop are among the displays. The museum also includes a clinic and a restaurant for Chinese herbal medicine food.

EDS Alumni Hold Gala Dinner Event on EDS 8th Anniversary

On the evening of 6 November 2010, alumni of the EDS Business School presented a fabulous gala dinner event at the Bukit Jambul Country Club on Penang Island, Malaysia, in honor of the 8th Anniversary of the founding of the EDS Business School. More than 100 alumni, students, faculty, and honored guests were in attendance from Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, and Philippines.

This momentous occasion was also honored with the kind present of Honorable Phee Boon Poh, the Penang State Executive Councilor in charge of Health and Welfare, Caring Society and Environment, Honorable Koay Teng Hai, the Penang State Assemblyman and Professor Dr. Douglass L. Capogrossi, President of International Distance Education Accreditation League, Philippines.

The Alumni Event Organizing Committee included Mr. Lim Soong Hooi, the organizing chairman and assist by YS Lee, Yap Weng Seng and Francis Chen. YS Lee served as the Master of Ceremonies, providing spirited introductions of the honored speakers.

Dr. Pete Ooi, Chief Operating Officer of EDS Business School provided a joyous introduction of the EDS founder, Dr. Ben Lee.

Dr. Ben Lee spoke about the founding and success of EDS over the past eight years of operation. He stated that the five founding objectives of the EDS were the reasons EDS has experienced such great success as an international award winning education provider. Dr. Lee explained that his development of the EDS model relied upon five primary objectives: transformation the students; taking good care of the EDS lecturers; taking good care of the EDS staff team; maintaining good relationships with the EDS partner universities; and always putting program quality ahead of concern for profits.

In closing, Dr. Lee thanked everyone for their enduring trust, guidance and contributions to the advancement of the EDS program. He pledged on behalf of the entire EDS family to stay on the path toward quality and success, adding value to the educational programs.

Dr. Douglass Capogrossi, President of the International Distance Education Accreditation League, Philippines, and President of Akamai University, Hawaii, USA spoke about his experience with EDS since first visiting Malaysia back in 2003. Dr. Capogrossi stated that over the years he has been most impressed with the quality and energy of the EDS training programs, and the concern EDS held for the growth and development of the students as individuals. Dr. Capogrossi mentioned that through his association with EDS Business School, Akamai University was able to expand its mission through many new friendships and partnerships, which have resulted as a consequence.

Dr. Capogrossi remarked that the content of the EDS programs can be compared, element-for-element with top-level programs in America, Australia, and elsewhere in Asia. The delivery of the EDS programs excels above those delivered elsewhere because of the opportunities provided to students for exchange of ideas with quality faculty and fellow students, because of the cross-border networking opportunities provided to the students, and because of the study-tours to industry, and the very beautiful multi-cultural setting of Penang Island.

Honorable Phee Boon Poh, the Penang State Executive Councilor in charge of Health and Welfare, Caring Society and Environment spoke about Dr. Ben Lee’s great achievements in the field of executive training through development of EDS Business School. Honorable Phee Boon Poh also brought to remembrance Dr. Ben Lee’s community service contributions to the Penang community, Malaysia, and the wider Asia-Pacific Region.

Dr. Pete Ooi provided a summary of the major accomplishments of EDS over the years, showing its initiation of training programs, expansion to Vietnam, China and Philippines. Dr Ooi highlighted a number of the more important awards given to EDS over the years, including the Best B-School Award

The audience was entertained by a very unique local singing group, B-Voice, seven very talented young women.

Vietnamese students provided a rousing presentation of cultural songs from Vietnam, and the audience was encouraged to sing along. Songs were welcome to Vietnam.

Malaysia students and alumni also took the stage, with a rousing singing presentation of Rasa Sayang and Cantonese song “pang yeow” mean Friendship.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Ben Lee reflected upon the past eight years and the hard work of establishing an outstanding EDS organization and his joy in having the hard work rewarded many times with high level awards and commendations from associations and universities.
In looking to the future, Dr. Lee stated that EDS will continue to build an outstanding team of staff and lecturers, find even more effective ways to transform students, improve programs, and expand or partnerships. Dr. Lee stated that EDS shall continue to use Penang as a platform from where to transform working professionals, help them to learn the future today, and develop their global networking. Over the next year, Dr Lee stated, EDS plans to have more residential students from China, Indonesia, India, and Eastern Europe and perhaps, expand to Latin America, especially Brazil and Chile.

The Vietnamese students motivated the entire audience to be on their feet in a ring of hand-in-hand, with the entire audience circling the room while singing Friends with great joy and happiness.
All in attendance had a great time, indeed!

SCHOLARLY DOCUMENT REQUIRED
MBA participants complete 40 graduate credits in coursework comprising the foundational competencies in theories, principles, and practices, and the social-cultural implications of the discipline. These courses represent the essential elements, which define the field of study and establish the underlying foundations upon which participants may base their advanced professional development.

Module Grading
Each module will have a five-part grading scheme:
• 5 marks: Class attendance and punctuality
• 15 marks: Scoring for extent of participation in the seminar activities
• 20 marks: Summarize and comment on case studies
• 20 marks: Assigned scholarly readings and submission of essays in reply to questions provided by the course instructor.
• 40 marks: Students prepare a written scholarly paper of 2,000 words on an approved topic for the module and assignment must include full references to that literature.

Attendance Required

EDS Business School together with AHUSC strives to offer the most affordable tuition fees for students under going their studies through EDS International Residential Studies in Penang, Malaysia.

MBA in HRM tuition fee is US$4,600 after scholarships are applied and full payment upon registration; and the tuition fee is US$4,900 if paid by two installments.

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

For acceptance to the doctoral program, participants should have completed a recognized Master’s degree or equivalent in business or another appropriate field and have several years of meaningful professional experience at upper levels of management.

In lieu of the Master’s degree, applicants are considered with a recognized Postgraduate Diploma, professional awards, and a minimum of five years of increasingly more responsible business experience. Such applicants are required to submit appropriate letters of recommendation verifying the prerequisite capabilities and motivation to succeed in advanced study and research. Applicants accepted in the absence of the Master's degree are required to add essential missing academic and research elements to the minimum program, as a condition for admission.

Successful applicants are proficient in English language or provide assurance of effective language support. As an entry requirement, participants must demonstrate access to a computer, email, and Internet, and academic business library resources for the duration of their studies.

For the PhD in Management, participants must complete a minimum of 60 credits above the Master’s degree including the comprehensive review, and dissertation project activities. PROCESS OF PROGRAM COMPLETION
Step #1: Assignment of Faculty Review Committee
After the PhD student’s admission and registration, as the first step in the program, Akamai University in collaboration with EDS Business School will assign the PhD student’s Faculty Review Committee. Once the primary member of the Committee has been assigned, the PhD student shall begin the preliminary activities of the degree program. The secondary members of the Committee are assigned later during progress through the program.

Step #2: Study Plan Process
The first activity of the doctor of business administration program is the completion of the PhD Study Plan document, which guides the PhD student and review committee through the degree process. The PhD Study Plan clarifies the degree designation and specialization that will be pursued through the program. The PhD Study Plan itemized the subject modules and other activities to be completed as expectations for the degree, and includes a timeline of completion of each of activity.

Step #3: PhD Major and Core Competencies
PhD students complete 27 graduate credits in preparing a foundation in theories, principles and practices in advanced contemporary business administration aimed at arming the participants with the basic management orientation necessary to undertake successful research in business administration. The PhD major and core courses stage of study will cover in three residential studies in Penang, Malaysia. Each residential studies covering 9 graduate credits which comprises 3 modules.

Step #4: Research Preparation
PhD students complete 15 graduate credits in research competency modules. The research preparation modules comprise research tutorials as a preparation for successful dissertation research. Participants produce scholarly papers that focus upon the background and problem statement for their dissertation, clarification of the research questions, overview of the literature review, methodology for conduct of research, and clarification of research preparation and manuscript guidelines. These tutorials are grades by the Committee Chair on a pass–fail basis.

Step #5: Comprehensive Review
Upon completion of the core subject and research preparation modules, PhD students are authorized to undertake the Comprehensive Review via Transformational Portfolio project. As the primary assignment, PhD students prepare an effective Summary of the findings from the research preparation modules with clear reflection upon the theme of their dissertation. The Review Committee shall present instructions and questions to the PhD student for primary focus in completion of the written assignment. Upon review of the student’s written submission, the Review Committee shall conduct either a face-to-face review or an telephone communication and exchange of email dialogue, exploring the student responses in detail and guiding the student in perfecting the written response.

Step #6: Dissertation Proposal
PhD candidates submit the dissertation research proposal under the direction of the Doctoral Review Committee and according to publish University guidelines. After making the required changes and additions, the proposal is approved.

Step #7: Dissertation Project
PhD candidates shall complete the Dissertation Project guided by the published guidelines of the University and their approved Dissertation Proposal. Upon completion of the research, the candidates prepare a draft of the research manuscript. Referencing of the scholarly literature throughout the dissertation manuscript is a vital element of the manuscript, without which it shall not receive University approval.

Step #8: Review of Dissertation
The Review Committee is provided a draft version of the dissertation manuscript for physical review. The Committee prepares a listing of concerns and questions to be explored with the PhD candidate during the oral review of dissertation. PhD candidates are expected to be able to explore the dissertation in detail. A written version of the Committee’s questions and concerns, as well as a brief set of notes from the oral review should be prepared by faculty and provided to the University for the permanent archival record.

Step #9: Finishing Activities
Following the review of dissertation, the Chair of the Review Committee shall provide the DBA candidate with instructions for completing final corrections and modifications to the dissertation manuscript. Following approval of the final manuscript, the PhD candidate is authorized to arrange for binding the manuscript, and the document is submitted to the EDS headquarters. The Chair of the Doctoral Review Committee completes the Degree Record form and submits this document to the University together with requested quality control materials. Upon receipt of all mandated materials and documents, the student is “graduated” and the finishing documents are issued (letter of completion, transcript of record, and diploma certificate).

Ifugao State University’s DBA Program is a professional doctorate. It offers a route to a doctorate degree and thereby the title “Doctor” that is different from the traditional Ph.D. The DBA gives particular attention to the development of candidates as managers and business professionals. DBA TUITION FEE
The IFSU DBA tuition fee is US$9,900 on full payment upon registration; and it is US$10,500 if paid in two installments. Students opt for the two installment plan must paid their balance tuition fee before commencement of the 2nd residential studies in Penang, Malaysia.

PENANG RESIDENTIAL STUDIES FEES
DBA student are required to attend three residential studies in Penang, Malaysia. For each residential studies session students need to pay USD690 to cover the cost of hotel accommodation for 9 days and 8 nights in twin-sharing room, breakfast & lunch during the studies session, airport pick-up, welcoming dinner, Penang Heritage City tour and other miscellaneous cost.

Viva Fees
DBA candidate are require to pay USD450 Viva Fees upon completion of the dissertation and before the Oral Review of Dissertation.

Thai Nguyen University Appoints EDS Lecturers as Visiting Professors

Thai Nguyen University (http://www.blogger.com/www.tnu.edu.vn), Vietnam, has appointed four top lecturers from EDS Business School as Visiting Professors to support their joint MBA and DBA programs with Southern Luzon State University, Philippines, and their Doctor of Education with National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan.

The key objective of the EDS-TNU collaboration is to conduct some of the MBA and DBA modules as a residential program by inviting facilitators of EDS who have wide industry experience to teach the respective modules in a dynamic approach suitable for adult executive learners which are senior government officials or members of the senior and middle management team in various industries in Viet Nam.

Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, the Director for International Learning Centre of Thai Nguyen University shared the results of their EDS faculty evaluations in a letter commending their achievements, stating the following:

It is with great pleasure to share that the report from the Evaluation on the Teaching Performance of a Single Faculty conducted for the …EDS faculty and the respective modules taught in the abovementioned MBA program for 120 MBA students of Thai Nguyen University in March 2010, indicates an average score of more than 97% on Good and Excellent in all criteria of evaluation.

With the good results from the evaluation, TNU increased the collaboration with EDS for year 2010 to teach a total of 11 MBA classes for about 350 MBA students.

The Laureate of the International Award of European Quality was presented to Euro College Macedonia on 11 October 2010.

Dr. Petrusevski Ljubisa and Mr. Cvetkovic Ranko together with other award recipients and key official of the Europe Business Assembly at the Oxford Summit of Leaders

On 11th of October, Euro College became the first higher educational institution in Macedonia and among the few in the region to receive the European Quality Award. The event was organized by Europe Business Assembly as part of their Oxford Summit of Leaders.

The highly esteemed award was received by the management of the college, Dr. Petrusevski Ljubisa and Mr. Cvetkovic Ranko, at the ceremony at the Oxford Town Hall.

Present were also the laureates from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other European, African and Asian countries.

During the plenary session called “Higher Education in the context of Greater Europe”, Dr. Petrusevski gave a presentation under the symbolic topic “Euro College and the Challenges of Global Education”. Euro College expects to continue its good relation with EBA and also develop future cooperation with numerous individuals and institutions that were contacted during the summit.
