More than 250 university leaders from across the Philippines in attending the program conducted by EDS Senior Faculty, Dr Lee Karling.
EDS Business School, Penang, Malaysia conducted an international leadership training seminar in partnership with Philippines Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), on October 20-22, 2010 at Bayview Park Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila.
The international training seminar focused on a University’s perspective on talents management, the quality management system, and contemporary leadership strategies. PASUC, in partnership with EDS, acted to harness the leadership potentials of the human resources in each participating state university and college for realization of their mission and purpose.
Participants accepted and internalized the important role they play in the development of their respective institutions. They understood the dynamics of leadership in academic institutions towards a more improved leadership capability. They renewed commitment to pursue institutional goals and objectives and develop a team mindset embracing the culture of cooperation and harmony.
More than 250 university leaders from across the Philippines were in attendance at the program. Dr Jimmy R Soria, Executives Director of PASUC presented the Welcome Remarks. Dr. Lauro B. Tacbas, President for PASUC, and Dr Ben Lee, President for EDS Business School each presented Statements of Partnership. Dr Serafin I. Ngohayon, Program Chairperson and President of Ifufao State University, presented the Statement of Purpose. Honorable Hadja Luningning Misuarez-Umar, Commissioner of the Philippine Commission of Higher Education (CHED) presented the Keynote Speaker, Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan. CHED Chairperson. Dr. Olivia F. De Leon, President of University of Reizal System, served as the Master of Ceremony for the event.
Participants were greatly impressed with the sophistication of the human resource presentation by Dr Lee Karling, member of the world class faculty of the EDS Business School. Dr. Karling was greatly respected by the participants, which included seven university/college presidents, many of which have expressed interest in hosting Dr. Karling at of the home campus their university.
PASUC announces Part II Training in Penang, Malaysia
At the conclusion of the event, with great excitement. Dr Serafin Ngohayon informed the participants that the training had not yet ended. He announced Phase 2 of the joint EDS PASUC training to be held at Penang on 19 - 25 March 2011. Many of the participants indicate great interest in attending.
