On 24 March 2012, EDS Business School in alliance with St. Robert International Academy officially launched the Akamai University PhD in Management at Iloilo City, Philippines. Doctoral seminar classes were held on 24-28 March at Smallville 21 Hotel at the Smallville Complex in Iloilo City Philippines.

Twelve of the new doctoral students recently attended the Akamai PhD in Management program seminars. Prof Dr Arivalan Ramaiyah, the conference facilitator stated, "The students were surprised at the very high quality, delivery, support and knowledge of the faculty. The participants can definitely differentiate between what they know in the Philippines and the international standards held by the EDS Business School and Akamai University." The great majority of these new doctoral student currently hold senior leadership positions with higher education institutions or the private sector.

One of our Vietnamese PhD students, Ms Hoang Mai Hoa traveled all the way to Iloilo City to join the PhD class. We really admire her determination to complete her PhD program. By attending the class in Iloilo City she also gained an opportunity to build cross-border friendships and establish global business networking.

Akamai University has plans to support expansion of the doctoral program with EDS Business School and St. Robert International Academy to Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore.
